I Took a Vacation

Let's start with I LOVE THE MOUNTAINS!
Geology is wicked, and mashed up ground that's been around for thousands of years that I can climb is super cool!
Being from Virginia, yeah Crabtree falls and the like are pretty and all, especially in the fall, but WOW the Rockies!
So if you haven't figured it out yet, we drove to Colorado, and man what an experience!
First off; Yes I said DROVE, 29 hours there, 33 back, yes it was hellish, but TOTALLY worth it!
We unfortunately crossed into the state after dark, so no sign of mountains after driving through Misery, sorry Missouri, and Kansas and all of it's "great" plains. Though we were welcomed with a quick yet brutal beating of hail. Which was quite the shocker to wake up to, I must say.
After denting up the rental (oops) we were finally there! And once the sun rose and we finally saw the mountains (literally right behind us, had no idea until sun up) we were in love! We had three days to explore and visit with some friends.
I had my mind blown by nature and the all around atmosphere of Colorado Springs, and honestly, I can't wait to go back.
