Getting Back to Our Roots

Obviously, getting your natural color back isn't typically quite as simple as it was to change it (unless of course your hair is naturally ash black) in that case lucky you!
But for our blondes and red heads, it is typically a process to get back the the natural level and tonality of the hair.
A process that should certainly be done with care and patience!
In this instance we have a long time friend of mine, she has some of the most gorgeous natural strawberry blonde hair you have ever seen! But it has been YEARS since she has been able to show it off, from bleach blonde, to dark brown, to dark reds, she has layered on the color and damage.
Now it's my job to carefully get her back to her roots!
Firstly I stripped out her current deep red , using Shwarzkopf BlondMe with Olaplex to make sure no more damage would ensue.
I was able to get her to a fairly light level, about a 7-8, and utilized a cool toner for a clean base.
I then mixed Kenra Bronze Metallics with red booster and a dab of violet to create this rich auburn transition tone that is 3-4 levels lighter then when we started.
Olaplex No 2 came in for the save leaving us with hair that felt better than before she came in!
As I said this is a PROCESS, and this is only the beginning, going from dark to light, especially where red tones and previous damage are involved must be done with the utmost care, stay tuned for part two when we get around to it!
